I received a note that my employer took out too much Social Security, but I calculated it and it is correct.

It says I need to get a corrected W-2. Is there a certain age where you no longer have Social Security taken out of my checks

I received a note that my employer took out too much Social Security, but I calculated it and it is correct.

If you know for a fact that it is the correct amount, don't worry about it. The social security amount should be 6.2% of your Box 3 income.

There is no age at which they no longer withhold Social Security taxes. As long as you are an employee of a business, they will continue to withhold both Social Security and Medicare taxes.
