I live in Mass and took distributions from a Roth IRA, it's asking for "other contributions previously taxed by Mass", is this the total amount I've contributed to date?

this was an early withdrawal ("J" code in box 7 of the 1099-R) for higher education, and Massachusetts is trying to determine the taxable amount...state taxes were already withheld (reported in box 12 on the 1099-R)

Yes, that is asking for the total amount you've contributed, if you've lived in MA while you made all of your contributions. That would effectively make the contributions previously taxed by MA.
