I live for some part of the time in a half way house. How do I answer that question about my income?

The question asks if I was an inmate, or lived in a halfway house.  I did part of the time.  How do I answer that question.

Income received  while in a halfway house, while incarcerated or in a work release program doesn't qualify as earned income for the Earned Income Tax Credit. Other than that, you would just report the income as usual.

In other words, stating that you live (or lived) in a halfway house while earning income is of no matter unless you applied  for an earned income credit in which case you would not qualify.
