I inherited an IRA. How do I verify that it is set up to allow distributions over my lifetime vs. required to withdraw over 5 years?

Talk to the IRA custodian to see what YOU set it up to do since that was your decision to make when the IRA was put in your name as the beneficiary.

Start taking the RMD (at least) in the  calendar year after the date of death and you will be on the desired path.
It is your responsibility to do that.
