I do not know how to answer was this withdrawal an RMD? I inherited from my mother's annuity

Answer "I was not required to take an RMD for 2016" to the RMD question. Nothing about a required minimum distribution (RMD) goes on the tax return whatsoever.  The only reason for the question is to see if there should be a penalty for failing to take the RMD. (see image attached) 

As a beneficiary it does not apply to you.
