I did a Roth conversion when I lived in Minnesota and moved to Oregon in November. How do I enter this so I don't get double taxed?

When you do your Oregon tax return, you will see an option for a Credit for Tax paid to another State. Choose that option and you will be prompted to enter the tax you paid to Minnesota and it will be subtracted from your Oregon tax.

Ideally, you will prepare your Minnesota tax return first and the tax paid there may be automatically transferred to your Oregon return when you go through the credit routine. If not, you can determine your tax in Minnesota by looking on the state tax summary, which you can access while working in your Minnesota tax program by using these menu tabs:

  1. Tools (left side of the menu bar)
  2. Tax Tools
  3. View Tax Summary
