I believe my 1040 is supposed to indicate on line 1 that my spouse is deceased, but that is not showing up on the draft return I printed. Is this a problem?

Yes, that is supposed to show. You should go back and when you review his or her info, just make sure you check Passed away before filing this return and enter the date of passing.

1. Click on the "My Info" in the black bar to the left
2. On the screen "Personal info summary"
3. Click on Edit next to you spouses name
4. Scroll all the way to the bottom, make sure your checked Yes to the last question under 3) is My spouse passed away before filing this return, a "date passed away" area will open and enter date.
