I am confused on Retirement Income and what code to use.

Last year I used G but looking at the choices should I be using N.  I need help as filing date is fast approaching.

I am confused on Retirement Income and what code to use.

If you have a Form 1099-R, the code is in Box 7. You are not allowed to choose a code that you think is appropriate. The IRS also gets a copy of the form and the information has to match what they receive. You must enter the code the issuer has included on the form. If you didn't receive the 1099, you should contact the issuer and if you can't get a form either online or in the mail, you could ask them to verbally give you the code.
