In the post that you added to someone else's older thread about repaying Social Security benefits, you included the information from your SSA-1099 forms for 2023 and 2024. According to those forms you did not repay any Social Security benefits in 2024. If you did repay anything the amount you repaid would be shown in box 4. If you did repay benefits in 2024 and the repayment is not shown on your SSA-1099 you have to take that up with the Social Security Administration.
Given the forms as you reported them, you just enter your SSA-1099 for 2024 in TurboTax as you normally would if you had not made any repayment, and you pay tax on the benefits you received in 2024.
In any case, you do not amend your tax return for an earlier year if you repaid any Social Security benefits. If you repaid any benefits in 2025 you will report that repayment on your 2025 tax return.
Please keep all of the discussion of your question in one place. When information is scattered in multiple threads it's confusing and hard to follow, and hard to see the whole picture. You are already causing confusion by posting partial information here and additional information in another place. If you have further questions about repaid Social Security benefits, please continue the discussion here in this thread.
Thanks for the response. I did repaid everything in March 2024. I will contact SSA to see why Box 4 is None. The way I interpreted Box 4, was related any overpayments I received during the time I was collecting my monthly retirement benefits and not the fact that I cancelled my retirement benefit and repaid back the full amount.
