Your question was unclear as to whether you wanted to delete the Traditional IRA contribution or the indication it is being converted to a Roth IRA.
To delete the Traditional IRA, you would:
- Select Search in the upper right hand corner of the window
- Enter Traditional IRA in the search box
- Select IRA contributions
- Select Jump to IRA contributions or Go to IRA contributions in the Blue box
- On the screen where you indicated who contributed to the IRA select Continue
- When you come to the screen where you entered the contribution amount erase the amount and select Continue
- Continue through the screens and answer the questions.
- When you come to the screen where you entered the amount to convert to a Roth IRA erase the information.
If you just want to delete the entries to convert the Traditional IRA to a Roth IRA, you should:
- Select Search in the upper right hand corner of the window
- Enter Traditional IRA in the search box
- Select IRA contributions
- Select Jump to IRA contributions or Go to IRA contributions in the Blue box
- On the screen where you indicated who contributed the IRA select Continue
- Continue on the screens until you see the amount of the IRA contribution amount - Erase the amounts and select Continue
- The next screen will tell you We'll Delete Recharacterized Amounts..Select Delete
- If you still wish to make an IRA Contribution select Back on the lower left of the next screen, then enter the IRA contribution amount and then select Continue
- Go through the remainder of the screens and answer the questions.
