How do I deduct military retirement pay from the state return.

What state?   There will be an income adjustment screen when you go through the state return.   Check under Retirement additions and subtractions.

This is for the state of Maine which does not tax military retirement income.

On the Maine return, mark yes on this screen and on the next screen, you can adjust the retirement income.
