How do i answer the American opportunity credit section if I’ve never received it but want to claim it? Should i answer no or yes I’ve received it?

If you did not claim the American Opportunity Credit ever, you will answer No.  The American opportunity tax credit (AOTC) is a credit for qualified education expenses paid for an eligible student for the first four years of higher education. Since you can only claim it for four years, this question (actually all questions) are important.
