How do I amend my tax return? I filed it on January 31 I just today got a 1099 in the mail from my IRA. I don’t remember but it says I there was held $450 in federal taxe

You will need to file an amended return to report this form 1099-R.

As you have already filed, please wait to see if your return is accepted or rejected. If rejected, you may correct and resubmit. If it is accepted, you need to file an amended return.

If you are expecting a refund, we recommend that you wait to amend until after the IRS has processed your original return and you have received your refund.
