I'm not sure I understand, but I'll try.
- You have $25,000 in social Security
- Your wife earned $25,000
You can see a copy of your tax return and it may answer you question
From the left sidebar
- Select Tax tools
- You may have to minimize both the Federal and State options by clicking the Down Arrows on the Sidebar.
- You will then clearly see Tax Tools
- Click the arrow to up to see additional options
- Click Tools
- A Menu will pop up
- Select View tax summary
- On the left panel click Preview my 1040
- You wife's income is on line 1a
- The social security is on line 6a

- 11 Adjusted Gross Income
- 12 Deductions
- 15 Taxable income
- 16 Tax
- 33 Total Payments
- 34 Overpayment
- 35a Refund
- 37 Amount you owe
