it depends. If both are absent from your return, you will need to add these back in the return. here how to add back in.

Log into turbo tax
Go to federal>income and expenses
Retirement plans and Social Security>show more
Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099) Start
Here you will enter your SSA-1099.
Go to federal>income and expenses
Retirement plans and Social Security>show more
Ira (401K), pension plan Withdrawals(1099R) Start
Now you will enter your 1099-R
