First Time Homebuyer Exception to Early Withdrawal

I am currently under contract to purchase a home, but have not yet closed on the property. Do I still qualify for the first time homebuyer exception to avoid the early withdrawal penalty if I withdraw from my IRA at this time? Any guidance is helpful!
