Does working for the government as a electrical inspector qualify as a public safety officer?

Here is a reference to Publication 575 from IRS that on page 6 specifies a public safety officer as "law enforcement officer, firefighter, chaplain, or member of a rescue squad or ambulance crew".

Unless you can find a better definition that would include your work, I would have tend to think that you don't qualify.
