Does a 1099-R for monthly pension benefits from my deceased husband (law enforcement) get reported as a normal distribution? This was his pension.

If the code in Box 7 on your 1099-R is a "7," then it is a normal distribution. If the code is a "4," then it is a distribution due to death.
