Do i still select the corrected w-2 c box if the corrected w-2 c is for social security number?

my w-2 c is only to correct the social security number so all other boxes are blank, i need to use the original w-2 to enter my amounts, do I select 'corrected w-2' when it ask if these unusual situations occur? do i send in both the w-2c and w-2 to file by mail?

You do not need to check the corrected box on the W2 for that purpose.  If you file by mail you should send in a copy of both Forms W2 and W2c.  

It is not necessary to file by mail unless you choose to do so, you can e-file your return if you like.
