Box 10 on my W-2 is showing as an addition to taxable income. Why is it calculating this way this year?

Box 10 of your W-2 is for deductions for a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).   If you do not report at least the amount in box 10 on Form 2441 Child and Dependent Care Expenses, then the amount not reported will show up on your Form 1040 as taxable income on line 1e.  If you complete the section on Dependent Care Benefits and report qualified expenses then that will be reduced or eliminated.
