Yes, your out of pocket expenses for care of a disabled spouse are deductible as medical expenses. But, to get a benefit on your taxes, you must itemize deductions, and you only get a deduction for medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income.
To find the section to enter your home health aide costs, click the "magnifying glass Search" icon on the top row, enter "medical expenses" in the search window and press return or enter, and then click on the "Jump to medical expenses" link to enter your health aide costs along with your other medical expenses and health insurance costs.
After you've entered your medical expenses, TurboTax will calculate whether you benefit from itemizing deductions, and how much of your medical expenses are deductible.
