Sold home

I sold my home in February 2023.  The home was owned jointly by my husband and I and left to me in his will.  Can I use the appraised value from his estate return completed in 2010 at his death as the basis for the property sold?

Thank you!

You can use the fair market value (as appraised) on the date of his death.

Note that 2010 had different rules so you need to specify whether he passed that year or earlier.

Further, you need to state whether or not the home was your main home (principal residence).
