Royal Bank transactions missing & manual verification in Mint

Royal Bank of Canada transactions often don’t update automatically in Mint until you’ve verified your account manually. This process is impossible to do in the Mint app, but only on via the desktop website. It is quite finicky as there is a very specific way you need to verify your account with RBC to allow the account to be updated with transactions. If not done in the correct order of steps, a user will be in a constant “loop” of requesting verification, attempting to verify on the RBC app and then going back to Mint to only need to request again and the loop goes on. This need to manually verify is likely due to 2 factor authentication that RBC has in place, therefore the integration with Royal Bank accounts don’t update unless you manually do this every so often. This defeats the purpose of having an app to update you on your spending if you have to go to your laptop in order to update the transactions.

Is there a work around in place or update coming soon? Last post I found is over a year old and just tells you to call RBC. Surely there must be a way to make the integration work better

PS this is making me seriously consider switching to a different budgeting app
