Names on deed when cosigning mortgage

My adult son is buying his first home and I am cosigning the mortgage.  What are the pros and cons of my name being on the deed?

Essentially, and summarily, having your name on the deed gives you some semblance of control over the property (including disposition thereof) and, on the downside, opens you up to premises liability.
