Has anyone called the IRS number for the 'payment trace' and actually gotten someone that would help? We have called 4 times, once an agent said he would transfer us to someone who could help (and we got cut off) and the other 3 times they refused. The refusal said we needed to wait another 4 weeks even though we have waited over 4 already. Which by the way was the amount of time it said to wait for our circumstance and had been updated the day before to reflect that info. We have filed form 3911 via fax but that says it could take another 6 weeks to get any information. Do the departments in the IRS communicate? Why have us waste an hour each time on hold to be told the opposite of what's posted on the web page?
