Banking Info Workaround?

I’ve already filed for 2019 & I owe the IRS so no bank info on file.

So I logged into my IRS account and made an installment payment of $1 to my 2018 taxes ( 2019 wasn’t available) and was able to add my bank info.

Anyone know if this will work for the stimulus check?

Estimated payments or installment bank accounts will not be used to process stimulus payments. Per the IRS:

In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.
