Adding partner to title of my house California

Hello, I'm think about adding my partner to the title of my house. We are not married and will not get married, but if anything should happen to me I want to make sure he and our son get to keep the house.Will adding him to my title affect how I do my taxes next year? Will I have to pay taxes or be taxed in any way by adding him to the title? I file as head of household. Would that have to change?Thank you!
