So when doing my taxes on TTax this year, I claimed my 10 month old son as an “other dependent” instead of “child tax credit”, based on TTax suggestions to “optimize my refund”. I have now received my $1,200 stimulus check, but not the extra $500 for my son, even though I received credit for him on my refund. Is there anything I can do to go about getting the extra $500 in arrears? It would be very extremely helpful right now and I cannot seem to find any info ANYWHERE, even on the IRS website. And of course they are not taking phone calls or appointments due to reduced staff. Any help or tips or resources are appreciated!
