What are these taxes specifically for? Are the real estate taxes, income taxes or some other type?

They are state and local taxes we pay on each rental.

Where do I post my state and local taxes for my rental property?

Yes, but what category of tax. If it is state and local income tax, you are paying tax on your entire income, not just the rental. If they were estimated taxes, follow the steps below. If they are real estate taxes, include them on Schedule E.

 

If you have state tax estimates or any other payments enter them here: (See the attached screenshot below. Click to enlarge.)

•        Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)

•        Click on Deductions and Credits

•        Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)

•        Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

•        On Estimates, click on the start or update button.
