Wage tax withholding

Hello, 

I have a new job in Church falls VA but my position will be changing to remote, however if they change my position I will lose locality pay due my current residence (mailing address)  is 114 miles away. I currently rent a room in Maryland where I stay for work during the week and travel home on weekends. I never worried about changing my residence (mailing address ) since it my locality was based off work.

I will be keeping my second residence in Maryland and switching to the rental address, will I also have to change the state withholding? I know for next year I will have to file in two states but after will I just file in MD since that is the state I am living in to work ?
