I will have to file a 1041 as there is cap gains and dividends since the date of death in an estate. $800 in div. Can estate pay income tax and not have to send K-1s out?

I am setting an estate and need to file taxes for 2016. I wanted the estate to pay tax on the dividend income rather than send out K-1s. The amount is about $800, over the $600 deduction.

Is that OK with the IRS?

The estate can pay the income tax if that is what the person in charge decides. But, the estate must still send out K-1s even if they show no tax pass through. Having the estate pay the tax does not prevent the estate from having to send Forms K-1 to the beneficiaries.
