SC is where my family (Wife and Daughter) live, and where I go to visit. I live and work on an oil rig in texas. I am at work 240-280 days a year. how should I file

These are the guidelines for each of the states.  It seems that where you have your driver's license could be a factor.

The following items will show the intent to become a resident of SC:

• Statement of full time employment in SC;
• Designating South Carolina as state of legal residence on military record;
• Possession of a valid South Carolina driver's license, or if a non driver, a South Carolina identification card.

To document proof of Texas Residency

• Utility bills in name of the person.
• Texas driver’s license or Texas ID card showing origination date.
• Texas voter registration card showing origination date.
• Pay stubs.
• Bank statements.
• Lease or rental of residential real property
