Rental Property Purchas

Can I deduct the down payment for a rental purchase. Also, If I sold stocks to use as the down payment can I write this off as well?

Rental Property Purchas

No, down payment becomes part of total purchase price when placed in service.

Stock sale is a separate taxable event not related to the rental purchase.
