Is the interest on my rental property and primary residence both limited to the $750,000 cap, or is that just for my primary residence.
Rental property is a form of business property. THere is no limit on mortgage interest deductions for rental property. The limits only apply to your SCH A deductions. Mortgage interest on a rental property loan is a SCH E deduction, not SCH A.
