Is unpaid rent considered a "loss" against income? I rent a condo and my tenant was evicted still owing $15,000 and probably will never pay.
Where do I enter the loss?

You do not need to enter the "loss" of rent from your evicted tenant. The $15,000 unpaid rent just won't be included as income on your Schedule E. Because the unpaid rent is not included as income, there will most likely be a loss reported on Schedule E for your rental property.
