I replaced an AC unit for $4500. Can I expense the whole amount or do I need to depreciate it?

If it is for your rental property, you must depreciate the cost of the AC unit. If it is for your personal residence, it is neither depreciable or an expense.

Vehicle Expenses Worksheet State prior depreciation (XX) should be blank. Can I add a federal amount ?
