How do I report stocks I purchased through Robinhood?

Your purchases of stock through your Robinhood account are not tax events. You do not report stock purchases on your tax return.

When you sell the stocks, you'll receive forms 1099-B from Robinhood at the beginning of the following year. These forms 1099-B have to be reported on your tax return for the tx year you sold the stocks.
