Foreign Stock Sale - No 1099-B

Did a foreign stock sale and do not have a Form 1099-B available.  Turbotax 2023 keeps asking for info in specific boxes on 1099-B form and does not give option to enter data without a 1099-B form.

I cannot continue using this program without option of "Did not receive a 1099-B".

I believe previous versions of Turbotax had a the question "Did you get 1099-B?" as shown here:

You can enter your foreign stock transaction without a Form 1099-B.  Even though you don't have one for your foreign stock, type "1099B" in to Search  and hit enter:

  • Click on "Jump to 1099b
  • Answer  Yes  to "Did you have investment income in 2023?"
  • Click through the program until you get to "Let's import your tax info?", and click on "Enter a different way".
  • Click to highlight the box with "Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds", then click on Continue.
  • Enter something for "Bank or Brokerage" and click on Continue.
  • Answer No to the Employee stock question.
  • Continue through screens until you come to the page with Now, enter one sale on your Foreign 1099‑B
  • Enter the information for your Foreign stock sale.

There is no option for "Enter a different way" on the import screen showing a list of brokerages.

The way the buttons appear depends on your version. If you are using a Desktop version of TurboTax, when you select Stock as the investment you need to report, at the bottom of the screen where it lists the brokerages, there are two buttons at the bottom of the screen:

You can choose Skip Import to enter the information yourself. If you can't see the buttons at the bottom of your screen, you may need to adjust the size of your display.
