Date acquired and cost basis of 1099-b if investments are from parents

Should I use the date acquired and cost basis from when I received the investments or when they were originally purchased?

The "date acquired" is the date your parents gifted the stock to you.

In determining your taxable gain on the sale of the stock, here are special rules to calculate your basis in stock that is gifted to you.

How do I determine the cost basis of stock I received as a gift?
