Can someone help in understanding the AMT carryover applied on multiple years on Form 8801? Carryover Credit is filed in turbo tax and I need to determine why?

Did you have carryover credits in prior years? TurboTax will pull that information from your prior year return.

Individuals, estates, and trusts use this form (8801) to figure:

The minimum tax credit, if any, for alternative minimum tax (AMT) they incurred in prior tax years.
Any credit carryforward to next year.
