Can I write off expenses even though I made no income except for soc sec at eleven thousand for the year?

I signed in Nov and my real estate expenses were 2 thousand even though I made no income except for soc security, can I write them off?

If you have no filing requirement, then there's no need to write off any expenses.

You must have income to take expenses against, and Social Security (if that's all you received) will not generate taxable income.
