Can i choose not to allocate mortgage interest for rental property
I rent out part of my home property. Can I choose to claim all the insurance and mortgage interest under the real estate section instead of entering a portion for my rental property? I have enough expenses without it, and would rather claim it as a regular deduction.

No, you cannot deduct all mortgage interest and property taxes as itemized deductions if you rent part of your home.
You have to claim all allowable rental expenses. The IRS will disallow part of your itemized deductions if your return is examined.
