Construction Loan

Hello,

I have been working on repairing my credit since 2016 when I had a hardship which left me unable to pay some loans on time and a couple charge offs. Since that time I have paid off all charged off accounts and been current on all payments which has improved my credit score but the derogatory remarks still leave me out of favor with banks when it comes to securing a construction loan. What can I do to improve my chances of obtaining a construction loan?
