If TurboTax is asking for your estranged husband's AGI and you can not access his information, you can try to request an IRS transcript online or try enter $0. Also, your Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) can be used for verification if you have one.   If you enter $0 it is likely your return will be e-filed successfully. It may take longer to process.   Get your tax records and transcripts How do I find last year's AGI?

Hello,   Both me and my partner (filing together) have scholarship funds we recieved as students. I recieved mine as a full time student, and so it should be tax exempt. They recieved theirs as a part-time student, so theirs should be partially tax exempt.   I have placed each amount correctly in T4A line 105 to indicate whether it should be considered taxable or not (according to the T2202 forms we recieved). However, for my return, it is still included in line 13010 as if it were taxable. For my partner's return, there is nowhere to include calculations to show the partial excemption based on education costs.   I am going based on these sources to guide my understanding of taxes:   https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/personal-income/[product key removed]-income/[product key removed]arships-fellowships-bursaries-artists-project-grants-awards.html https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/personal-income/[product key removed]-income/[product key removed]arships-fellowships-bursaries-artists-project-grants-awards.html I'm not sure how to actually indicate that the amounts we recieved are not/only partly taxable.  I am also not able to review past forum comments on the same issue for some mysterious reason.   Any ideas?   Thanks in advance

Both TaxAct and H&R Block support Windows 10 for their desktop (installed) programs.   TurboTax does not support Windows 10 for their desktop versions.

Good to know, thanks for confirming there is not a current method of importing this data into TurboTax.  I can confirm that H&R software has a built in feature that is very similar to It's Deductible (ID). H&R helps you value your donations and once completed with a specific donation group of items, you can then start another donation. The details of each donation is kept within the software and visible for review. Not as flexible as "ID" and I am sure your software, but it is built in and it's valuation is very close to what "ID" calculated. I exported all my 2025 donations from ID with the values assigned. I then entered all items into H&R  and it calculated a similar valuation. I am not hyping H&R, I have no vested interest in H&R.  At my own expense I purchased 2025 TutboTax and H&R Block so I could run a parallel to evaluate the the two packages. I find the primary user interface of TT easier to navigate by jumping to the items you want to complete, while offering a "guide you through it" process for new users.  I have used TT for YEARS and would prefer to keep using it, but this disregard for Intuit's customers is appalling. We had this feature in TT for years and was included as part of the total purchase price of TT. So, even IF there is eventually a method of importing donation data from a 3rd party software like your "That's A Write-Off ", we users will be paying an additional fee for a feature that was previously  included in our TT costs.
I am trying to confirm that a Windows 10 Version of Turbotax is not made for 2025?  I will be disappointed if that is the case but if it is.  What competitive program would you suggest?

At the part while doing my tax return where I compare last year's return to this year's return the numbers your showing for last year doesn't match the numbers on last year's actual return. I asked for a call back on your service and when the call came there was no one on the other end. I waited until the other end hung up . I called that number back and the person that answered said they were a tech and while I was trying to explain why I called he rudely said I'm not a tax expert and hung up on me. I used the contact us to explain all of the above and have not heard back from any one even though they said that someone would read what I wrote and get back with me.  I'm now thinking of having my last years return transferred to another tax preparer service and use them.

The issues with entries on Form 8283 and donations of stock have been reported by other users and have been elevated for investigation. It has since been confirmed as an issue by our development team.     We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and you can sign up here for updates.    In the alternative, as long as the dollar amounts are correct, you could also choose to continue to file.   See this TurboTax tips article for more information about Form 8283. @fla2025  @sallyawalk  @vasto7

This is so sad that you do it that way, all about the money, not helping the people. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do before AI eliminates your services.

It depends.  it is likely that this is the result of how different types of income are taxed or credits.    Even with a taxable income of $112,000, your final tax liability could be lower than expected if a large portion of your income comes is long-term capital gains or qualified dividends. These types of income have a favorable rate, which you can find here.   Another possibility is that you have tax credits, such as the Child Tax Credit or credits for energy-efficient home improvements and electric vehicles. These credits reduce the amount you owe dollar-for-dollar after the initial tax is calculated. For example, if you have one child, that would reduce your tax by $2,200.   You can check how the tax was computed by reviewing your 1040, in TurboTax Online navigate to Tax Tools on the left of your screen, choose Tools, then View Tax Summary. On the left of the screen, select Preview my 1040.

You need to Amend your Federal return first (even if you're not actually changing it), since the State return takes data from the Federal.  Step through your Federal return, and you should be asked if you want to amend your state return too.  Then step through the State return.     Make sure you saved a copy of the originally filed return and your previous amendment.  If you're amending from the first amendment, make sure you have the right data file loaded up.  Confirm that what you want to amend in your state return doesn't require any change in your Federal return too.     Here's more info on How to Amend a Prior Year State Return.   @RealGenius
Except the adjusted Interest does not flow to the NJ State 1040. Also you can not edit it on the NJ Adjustment Page.
