It’s too late to file prior-year tax returns on TurboTax Online.  You will have to purchase TurboTax Desktop and install it on your computer to prepare your 2023 tax return.  You should prepare 2023 before you prepare 2024.   For more information, review the TurboTax Help article How do I file a 2023, 2022, or 2021 tax return?

I have been using Turbotax Online for years, including creating and filing T1135 forms. I have a suggestion for a small enhancement but cannot find any place to provide my suggestion except for here in this community. I hope somebody from Turbotax may see this and consider it.   Turbotax is smart enough to carry over the headings from last year's T1135 entries to this year's return, such as the name of the security dealer and the country code. New entries get added to the end of the list and I do not see any way to change the sequence of these entries in this year or future years.   It would be REALLY useful if I could sort the entries so that they match the reports that I receive from my financial institutions. This would reduce the scrolling up-and-down and minimize the chances of missing an entry.

After Windows 10 updates problems I finally solved, I still couldn't get rid of the "Failed to Install Update - Error 1603 - Fatal Error during install."    Because of Turbotax's shortened hours, I couldn't reach them.  I then stupidly the Application; now I can't get program reinstalled! I have .taxfile for 2024, but it doesn't seem to help to reinstall the program.   I purchased Premier from Costco but can't remember how Turbotax helped me install it.   NEED HELP!

Sorry Online is only for 2024 now.  You have to use the Desktop program.   Sorry it's too, late to start a 2023 or prior online return or use the mobile app, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS. And too late to efile 2023. To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.   If you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand.  Here are some basic forms..... Here is the 2023 1040 return https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2023.pdf or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s--2023.pdf 2023 1040 Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2023.pdf 2023 EIC and Tax Tables https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040tt--2023.pdf Schedules 1-3 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s3--2023.pdf Don’t forget your state. And you will have to print and mail your returns.  So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing. Then when you file for 2024 you need to enter 0 for the 2023 AGI since you are filing 2023 late.
Suggestion received 🙂   Since I have already filed with turbotax, I will get another software and fill the same numbers for 2024 to test it. This will give me the confidence next year.
I have an approved extension for 2024 until October 2025! My 2023 return is due by 1 May 2025
These are normally paid after tax season around July.

Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out.  Turbo Tax only passes your bank account number to the IRS or state for them to take it out of your account.  (Most states do not let you pay by Direct Debit so you have to mail in a check or go directly to the state's website to pay).  And some banks use different routing numbers for deposits and payments.  Double check the number you entered with your bank.   Check the cover sheet and see how you were supposed to pay it.
I have done all that and the error is still there.  Support escalated as it may be a bug.   Damir

Merci

How are they right.  I don't have any extra income in my pocket because of a yes or no question that was incorrectly answered.
I can not see a way to check it in my account.
please look at my answer on Page 28

I am really done with Intuit products.   There was no feedback from Intuit. Their garbage software would be too expensive even if given for free.   I ended up removing the value from the line #34 of TP-726.20.2-V (the value they are supposed to calculate, in fact!!!), reducing the deduction on #75 to zero. This has allowed me to do NETFILE.   Now I will have to do paper adjustment for both me and my wife. Which will take 4-5 months and 1-2 angry calls 😉 before it gets processed by Revenu Quebec. I think, the problem there is that they have one guy who knows this form and he is probably a part-time consultant 😉
No.  The IRS fixed it for you.  Some of your Social Security is now taxable .   So your refund is less.   The IRS is right.
