I would wait for a couple of days. Even though things are done electronically, there may be a backlog in the IRS computers this time of year that may slow down the debiting process. I have seen this happen numerous times in the past.   Since your state was debited, you can be sure the IRS has the same information. If you are concerned about a late payment, don't be concerned. Your return was time-stamped when you sent it, so your payment is not in arrears.

I am having the exact same issue. Cash is still sitting in my account. I may go direct to IRS website if I don’t see it move in the next day or so.

This error indicates a rejection in your tax return related to Form 8915-F, used for reporting qualified disaster or coronavirus-related retirement plan distributions. The field indicates a discrepancy in the prior year's selected distribution amount for SEP/SIMPLE/Roth groups.   It will likely be best to print your return for mailing. The IRS may not be quite prepared for this since the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) changes. How do I file by mail?

My last answer was incorrect.  Opus 17 is 100% correct.  The 401(k) treatment of the earnings on the excess contribution is in the regulations, while there are no regulations for the earnings from the excess HSA.  Even though withdrawn in 2026, as Opus 17 stated, the earnings on the excess HSA contribution should be reported in 2025.
