You will need form 1098-T in order to complete the higher education section of the tax return. You can find this form at your schools website e-services under tax documents. I hope this helps.

If you're using TurboTax Desktop, you will need to upgrade to the Home & Business version. Once the software is installed, open a return then use the link at the top right corner of the TurboTax Home & Business screen to access Quick Employer Forms for free. Or go to File >> Create 1099/W2.   If you're using TurboTax Online, the easiest way to start is to log into TurboTax then open a new tab and to go to the Quick Employer Forms site.   Quick Employer Forms is also available to the public, but not for free.   For more information, see:  How do I create W-2 and 1099 forms for my employees or contractors? What is Quick Employer Forms?

If you've already filed your tax return, you can't pull it back. The IRS will start processing 2025 tax returns on January 26th, 2026.   If your return is rejected, you can go directly back in and make changes.  If it is accepted, follow these steps: On the Tax Home screen,  Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and  Select the Amend (change) return dropdown,  Then Amend using TurboTax Online. (If you're told to amend your return via TurboTax Desktop, follow the steps for TurboTax Desktop instead.) Continue through the screens, make the changes you need to make, and carefully answer the remaining questions to finish amending your return. I made about $700 profit from my brokerage account trading stocks, options in the whole year.    My broker is showing a net gain of almost $6700 and are saying I might have to short term gain tax on 6700 which is almost 3 times the actual gain of $700.    Is this something that can be amended while doing the actual tax return. It doesn't make sense to be paying so much when the actual cash profit is only $700.  They used FIFO cost basis which is probably why the net gain is so high. Any suggestions?

Perhaps all of the cryptocurrency upload software is not yet operational.   The TurboTax Help How do I upload a CSV file of my crypto transactions? states:   Select +Add investments if you've already added some crypto info. On the Let's import your tax info screen, select Enter a different way, Cryptocurrency, and then Continue. Follow the onscreen instructions to upload your cryptocurrency. In TurboTax Premium Online, if I select Enter a different way, I do not receive the Cryptocurrency prompt.  Nor do I receive a prompt for CSV file.   This tax year introduces a new IRS tax form 1099-DA Digital Asset Proceeds From Broker Transactions.     IRS Form 1099-DA will be used by brokers to report proceeds from (and in some cases, basis for) digital asset dispositions to you and the IRS.

I worked at an investment firm from 2021 - 2024. A part of my compensation was deferred. This deferred compensation was invested in the firm's fund as Unvested Interests. The firm filed 83(b) on my behalf and paid taxes on the principal amount of the deferred compensation. I was issued a Schedule K1 for 2023 and 2024. However, I have personally paid taxes on the net income that are reported on my Schedule K1 even though I did not receive that income. I switched jobs in 2025. The investment firm cancelled the deferred compensation as a result of this switch. (My new employer bought me out.) I was wondering if it's possible to recover the taxes that I've paid on the income reported on my Schedule K1's? My initial research suggests that we can either (a) file amended taxes for 2023 and 2024 or (b) report this as capital losses.
@victor-bertolina    So you did get the SS section to finally work for you? (Works fine on my Windows 11 Premier....I just edited SSA-1099 on a test file)
