@taxhard47 fixing a typo, see other comments also   "but online is different workflow, no forms mode, and you can only do 1 return."

Sorry, I'm sure you just fired off an answer and was sure it would be good but I think he was looking for something like this:  ttps://accounts.intuit.com/app/account-manager/productsBilling/turbotax? click on Products & Billing click on The TurboTax link there.  Pick the tax year you want, then Licenses and downloads There you can find the license code and copy it to the clipboard. Then you can install it on (your new) computer. I just did the same thing for 2024 so I could do 2025 taxes and refer back to the 2024 year too

I assume you're referring to the offer to switch to online and want to go back to desktop? - I think you have to contact Turbotax support to do that.   just to let you know desktop is still pending a lot of updates to open up interview section for major sections (also waiting on my state), lots of threads about it in this forum, expecting lots of s/w updates in the coming weeks.

@taxhard47 at this point it's highly unlikely Intuit would reverse course on Win 10, this topic has been going on for months.   there was an offer rolled out in October if you buy desktop - see screenshot from @MY143 - when you try and install it on Win 10 it will stop and give you an offer to switch to online premier for Federal and State at no extra cost.  So the $99 for additional schedule you are referring to should not apply.  So if you just have an issue with the cost you can try doing it that way rather than going straight to online.   but online is different workflow, no forms mode, and you can only do return.   the other option many have been using is to set up a Win 11 VM and run Turbotax there - not sure the technical steps but I'm sure there's a YouTube for it.

online has a different workflow, no forms mode is the main difference, and you can only do 1 return so if you want to do multiple for whatever reason or use the s/w for estimates later in the year, you can't do that with online.  it generally costs more also, tho that should not apply under this offer.   heads up that desktop is delayed rolling out interview mode for some of the major sections (1099R, 1099B, Schedule A), there will be a lot of updates coming to the s/w over the next few weeks.

yeah seems to be just a bug on the email signup, annoying but not critical as you can easily check the app.  check back towards end of next week, no one in this forum really knows but expectation is a big update coming next week after a few weeks without one, and more in the weeks following.   if you're trying to do estimates for Q4 ES payment you can try entering in forms mode or use a simpler online calculator like this for now https://www.dinkytown.net/java/1040-tax-calculator.html

I’ve a 529 plan for my son, a full-time college student. I plan to withdraw money from the 529-plan to help pay for the Spring 2026 tuition. This year (2026) I won’t be able to claim him as a dependent because he will have a full time job after graduation and his income will exceed the minimum income limit to be claimed as a dependent. In 2025's tax return, I will not be able to claim him as a dependent as well due to the income that he has made over summer 2025.   If the 529 plan make the check payable to me and I pay for my son’s tuition, will TurboTax allow me to enter the information from the 1099-Q for my son even though he will not be listed as a dependent on my tax return? The distribution amount (box 1 of 1099-Q) will be less than his tuition.   Because of my taxable income amount,  I won’t be able to claim the education credit.  Would it be better if the 529-plan makes the check payable to my son (or his school) so he can pay for the tuition and receive the education credit with his tax return?

I am not defending TurboTax for being late with usable software. However, if you are trying to get some estimates then using the forms works fine for 1099-Rs.   My guess is that by the end of this week many of the missing forms will be available.    Personally, I use a spreadsheet to use end-of-the-year estimates and wait for TurboTax to be complete to file. Sometimes the IRS causes some of the delays.

The easy step indicates IRA distributions area and several others are "not available". Errors indicate something about a 3903 firm missing which is not related and I don't use. When I used the option to be notified when the form would be available it emailed me that it was available (yet another defect,). If I have to use the form view to do everything. I don't need this software. Seems like software is not complete and little to no QA has been done.
I need a copy of my 2024 tax return

A 2024 W-2 can only be entered on a 2024 tax return.   If you are asking if you can enter it into the 2025 software the answer is  NO.      If you did not file a 2024 return, or if you filed but left out a W-2 from 2024 then you either need to prepare and mail a 2024 return or amend the 2024 return that you filed last year.  Which do you need to do?
Why can't you enter IRA distributions? Just fill out a 1099-R.

You actually have time......even if you qualify for the refund advance loan, you will not be able to e-file for several weeks yet.  And the advance money is not ever issued until the IRS accepts your e-file.  The IRS will not begin to accept returns until late January.   The online software typically updates on Thursdays, so watch on Thursdays for the updates.
