VolvoGirl, what about the situation where a 68 year old taxpayer rolls over $150,000 in a 401K to an IRA in 2018. The contract is that the whole amount is invested by the fiduciary into an investment that pays $6,000 per year in distributions described as "interest on investment." Initially, the distributions are made regularly but then they stop in the year that the IRA purchaser is required to take an RMD. But there is no money left in the investment and he does not get the RMD. The fiduciary sends emails to investors makes a very circular argument that the investment will come back but a sober reading makes it clear that the investment is bankrupt. Meanwhile, the taxpayer is subject to penalties because there is no way to take an RMD. As time goes on, it is clear there is no money left in the IRA. How can the taxpayer obtain abatement of the penalties the IRS has imposed?

I will wait a few days Just be sure your Tax Home in TurboTax says the Missouri return was "Accepted." If you just efiled yesterday, it may still say "Pending." Once it changes to "Accepted" (if not already), then that should mean Missouri received it and agreed to start processing it, but it will take a few days to show up in their tracker.

You should get a message. If you really only used 4 (one message you wrote said 4, and in the last one said "5 with no issue", so I assumed you efiled 5. There are occasional posts from some people who didn't get all of their 5 for some reason, or for whom a rejection counted as 1 of the 5. You can try in the morning and see what happens. Otherwise, if you still can't transmit in the morning, here's how you can reach TurboTax Support if you need additional help. They open at 5AM Pacific. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/contact/

If you used up all your efiles, then you will indeed have to file by printing, signing, dating, and postal mailing. It's recommended to use a method with tracking. The mailing address should print out on the Filing Instructions. An alternative to USPS is a private delivery service such as FedEx, UPS, etc. which requires a special IRS address used for courier deliveries. We can tell you more if you want to go that route.

It shouldn't have anything to do with your refund. If it's accepted, your refiled return won't be late, since your resubmission is within the 5-day grace period to correct a rejected return. It should be considered timely-filed. And even if it were a late return, there would not be a penalty if one is getting a Federal refund. State rules might vary.

I did 5 returns for family members on the same system , with no issue Tried Restarting the computer Tried Restarting the program Tried Re installing Turbo Tax Got Every Update for Turbo Tax There is no VPN activated on my computers It Stalls at Transmitting Most likely too many users trying to submit returns all at once hence the SLOWNESS and Incompetence by INTUIT. Since there is no money owed I will patiently wait until tomorrow and try transmitting them again. if not I'll contact Customer service if any exists. And as a last resort I will MAIL THEM BY THE PAPER OLD SCHOOL WAY.

If you need to verify your email address or phone number in your Intuit Account, here's how: Log into your Online TurboTax account (if not already logged in.) In the left column scroll way down to Intuit Account. Once in the Intuit Account you should see a left column tab for Sign In & Security. Next to your email address and phone number there may be a little tag for each that either says "verified" or "not verified." If it says "not verified", click on that tag to verify.

What is showing at the Tax Home of your Online TurboTax account? Does it say accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what? Did you efile? If so, how many days has it been? The Missouri Refund Tracker website says it can take up to 5 business days after efiling to show in their tool.
