I think we all got the email cloroxmartini referred to several weeks or more back. Then Keela Robinson puts out her announcement DATED October 20, 2025. What kind of games are Turbotax playing with us? How do we contact someone from Turbotax, especially Keela Robinson to get a straight answer? https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/articles/community-news-announcements/turbotax-windows-10-desktop-software-end-of-life/05/3708302

@ Daniel233 wrote: I didn’t see where to enter the pay I received while filling out the form. It’s now asking me to upload or take a photo of it — is that the correct step? You've essentially asked the same question as the original poster. That question was answered for the OP directly above your comment. Are you needing to enter a W-2? If your situation is different than the OP, and the answer above is not what you need, then you'll need to explain what you are doing. We don't know with any certainty what/where you are trying to enter something. If it's a W-2 and you have a copy, it's often easier, faster, and more accurate to enter it manually. You are not required to upload it or take a photo. See the image I posted in my answer right above your comment. If you're getting that screen for a W-2, you can scroll down and choose to enter it manually if you prefer, as shown by the red arrow in the image above.

@kthenjiwe1 and @Michael652 No one can check the status for you, but we can tell you what all you need to do to investigate on your own, and how to phone the IRS if necessary (although they are harder to reach right now.) First of all, it depends on how you filed; i.e., whether it was by efile or by printing and mailing a paper return. A mailed paper return can take 6-8 weeks or sometimes even longer to process. And if the IRS decides to pull a return for further review, that can add to processing time. Here are some things you should check before phoning the IRS: If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted. If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home. If you prepared it online, does it show the status of the return as accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or something else? If you used desktop software, you can check from within the software. If that confirms that your efiled return was accepted, (or if you mailed a paper return), you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund. https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund See what is displayed there about your refund. Is there any message when you use that tool? Here are some tips when using the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool: Be sure you enter the correct tax year, SSN and filing status. Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount. Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a screen. Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a. After that, if necessary, we can tell you how to phone the IRS, and if needed, how to contact the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service if you are having an economic hardship. Take heed ! After spending 3 days ghosting my client's computer Windows 10, and doing the Windows 11 upgrade and online upgrades several times, the October Microsoft Upgrades had issues. Then read NEW Computers with NEW Windows 11 updates had none of the issues ! Since client was purchasing a new SSD, did a clean install from the Windows 25H2 using the hack. #1 - His old computer is now Super fast !! # 2 - No Windows 11 issues !! # 3 Far more uptodate drivers installed !! # 4 Computer running far better than with the cloned 10 and updates, and without the issues. Have changed my ideas on now how to update non complient computers for my clients. So, I recommend this way to super upgrade your non compliant computer to Windows 11, keeping it from the EV junk pile, and giving it a second life !!! It will appreciate it.

I have a similar issue--I retired this year so my 6 month lookback falls partly into 2024. I can correct the 2025, by calling the funds excess contributions, but should I file an amended return for 2024 so I can pay the penalty? (My husband retires this year as well, at least we can fix his first! What a hassle. I had never heard of this rule before today!)

It doesn't matter to a Roth where the money comes from. Since it is all taxed when deposited (either as a contribution or conversion), and withdrawals are tax-free, the concept of basis is irrelevant to a Roth.
If you have a traditional IRA that has an after-tax basis, that is tracked on form 8606, and if you want to withdraw part of the the traditional IRA tax-free (because you already paid tax on part of the contribution) you need the most recent form 8606. A new one is generated with every tax return that either makes a non-deductible contribution, or withdraws from, or converts from, a traditional IRA.

" TurboTax Advantage Enrollment cancellation We are sorry to see you leave, John Your TurboTax Advantage enrollment has been canceled. We will not charge your credit card for next tax season’s product and you will no longer receive TurboTax automatically each year or TurboTax Advantage exclusive benefits. If you already received your product for the current tax year, canceling your membership does not initiate a refund.
